Before you buy a supplement that promises to slow aging, spend ten minutes checking the evidence. One free place to start is Evipedia, a library of more than 860 evidence reviews on health and longevity interventions from the Forever Healthy Foundation. It is now also published as an open dataset on Hugging Face, a site for sharing AI data.[1]
What you get
Each intervention has a one-page Quick Reference Sheet covering protocol, benefits, risks, contraindications and monitoring, plus a full evidence review. Reviews are refreshed every four to six weeks on average, and each includes an audit report showing how it was checked. The reviews are written with AI models using the foundation’s own framework, so the studies they cite matter more than the summary.[1]
A four-step check
- Name the exact claim. “Supports healthy aging” is too vague to check. “Lowers blood pressure in adults over 50” can be checked.
- Read the Quick Reference Sheet’s risks and contraindications first, then the benefits.
- Open the cited studies. Were they in people or in animals? Was there a randomized controlled trial, or only observational data?
- Take what you find to your clinician before you start, especially if you take prescription medication.
A word of caution
We have not audited Evipedia’s reviews, and an evidence review is only as good as the studies behind it. Use it as a map to the research, not the final word. For what human trials show on several popular longevity supplements, see Do Longevity Supplements Work? What the Trials Show.
